India bans TikTok, WeChat and dozens more Chinese apps

India’s federal government has banned TikTok and dozens extra Chinese-designed apps it suggests are a danger to the state.

TikTok’s parent corporation, ByteDance, is headquartered in Beijing and the app initially grew to become well known in the Chinese market just before spreading globally.

India is TikTok’s major overseas industry, with an believed 120 million people.
